Subject: Chase Amazon credit card
Comment:
Amazon Chase raised my rate from 13.9 to 28.9 and when I called, I was told I could "opt out" which I did. The phone rep failed to mention that by doing so my credit card would immediately close. This was my line of overdraft protection, so two months later, when a check for 35.00 was not covered on Dec. 31, I was charged 105.00, and another 7.00 check cost me 105.00 and soon I was 700.00 in errors. They refuse to listen to the recorded phone conversation with the rep. where I asked him why I would choose not to opt out and he said that he doesn't know. They took 700.00 of my money and told me it was my fault for not opening the letter saying my account was closed. I do all of my banking on-line and never open statements, which is why I called the rep. I had to use my daughter's college loan to pay bills this month while a huge corporation takes half my paycheck.
