Subject: Unfair APR charges
Comment:
I have had a Marriott Chase Credit card for 3 years.
Some time ago they hiked up interest rates and I opted out of it.
My APR stayed at 14,99%
Last month I forgot to pay on time. This never happened before, but I was hospitalized and it was a traumatic time.
They charged me $39 and hiked up my APR to 28,99. Another credit card credited me with the fee for my onetime late payment.
I pleaded with them and they refused to hear me and said there was nothing they could do.
I told them that most other credit cards have a foregiveness attitude for a one time late payment.
They refused.
Now I owe them $4,500 which I have to pay 28,99% every month. For a teacher this sucks.
I wish someone would create a class action suite and really teach them a lesson.
I don't mind the lawyers getting rich on this one. This bank must close. They are extortionists.
