Chase monthly billing that was paid in full each month advise that I had $35 of Reward Points to redeem. After calling and asking how to redeem, I made a $100 plus purchase that the Rewards Points were to be applied against. Chase told me in Jan 2009 to pay X amount and my account would be paid in full, which I did. On Feb 26th and 28th they advised that they had not applied the Reward Points, but that it would be corrected. Chase assured me on more than one occasion that it would be taken care of and that my balance would be zeroed out. In March I received a letter stating that they were only applying $5 of the $35 plus rewards that had accumulated and had been carried forward every month for a year, and that I had to pay $30 and some change to Zero out my account, and that I would have $45 in Rewards Points. The Points are worthless. I am being coerced by incorrect billings, letters, verbal lies, deception and inept and incompetent employees to pay the $30 in order to close this account. I wish consumers had some recourse against such dishonest businesses practices as Chase Visa and Office Depot.
