Subject: Americans need to be immunizated against Banks like Chase!
Comment:
I'm sad to say that my wife and I are among the thousands of Washington Mutual credit card holders who have been victimized by the unfair credit practices of JP Morgan Chase & Co since they "purchased?" our credit card account in January of 2009.
I would like to raise the question of how much they really paid Washingtom Mutual to acquire all of these accounts? Did they do it for penny's on the dollar like other debt scavengers do? How much bailout money was used for the purchase of these accounts? I could go on and on, but here's our story.......
I sent them a registered letter (well ahead of their 2/20/09 deadline)stating, "that we did not agree with the change in terms, nor do we agree with the terms of our right to opt out." I stated we wanted the account closed at the current interest rate, not at the rate of 29.9% which the representative quoted me when I phoned Chase on 1/19/09. They said this was based on our credit history, and there was nothing that could be done.....? They also raised the minimum amount due (which we were not aware of till the next months statement), and then charged us a $39 late fee for not meeting the minimum amount due on the next months bill.
I just want to make sure that I become a part of the class action being filed against Chase. I will never do business with them or an affilliate. They are a virus that we can definitely do without, especially in this economy!
